Generations of Craftsmanship: The Rick Terry Family Legacy

In a world filled with endless options and online marketplaces, it’s easy to feel like just another customer. But for something as personal as jewelry, a piece that celebrates a major milestone or holds a family story, you need more than a generic product. You need a piece with its own story, made by people who care about yours.

At Rick Terry Jewelry Designs, we are more than just a business; we are a family of jewelers who have been creating and caring for jewelry in Knoxville since 1986. For us, every piece is a legacy in the making.

A Legacy Built with Passion and Family

Our story begins with a love for the craft, a passion that has been handed down through the family. Rick Terry’s journey started in 1978, when he took his first job as a jeweler in Chattanooga. He quickly learned the trade and found his calling, developing a deep appreciation for the art of creating and repairing fine jewelry.

In 1986, with a decade of experience under his belt, Rick and his wife, Laura, founded Rick Terry Jewelry Designs in Knoxville. Their goal was simple: to create a family-owned business where customers would feel welcome and where their jewelry would be treated with the care and respect it deserves.

The business grew, and so did the family’s involvement. Their daughter, Holly, began working in the store at a young age, helping out wherever she could. Today, she is an integral part of the business, a testament to the family’s long-standing dedication to their craft.

The Art of Hands-On Craftsmanship

Unlike many big chains that send their work off to a factory, all of our jewelry is made and repaired right here in our Knoxville workshop. Our in-house approach lets us work with you directly, from your first idea to the finished product. We are here to answer your questions, adjust the design, and make sure every detail is exactly what you hoped for. This personal process is what separates a truly special, custom piece from something that is simply mass-produced.

A Culture of Trust and Service

Our commitment to you goes beyond the final product. We see every client as a member of our extended family. That’s why we focus on building relationships that last. We believe in complete transparency and use our expertise to give you a clear understanding of your options, whether you are designing a new ring or getting an appraisal for an heirloom. We are proud of our commitment to locally and responsibly sourced materials, a practice that reflects our family’s long-standing integrity.
