Rick Terry

With over 30 years behind the showcases and at the bench — repairing, creating, and designing jewelry — Rick is now a master craftsman/artisan and owner of Rick Terry Jewelry Designs.

Rick attended Clinton high school and graduated in 1977, and in 1980 he also married his high school sweetheart Patty. In 1981, a chance to train as a jeweler was presented to Rick, this opportunity began Rick’s career in the jewelry industry and enabled him to eventually move to Knoxville and open his first jewelry store, The Goldmaster, with his father in 1986. After setting out as a jewelry designer and business on his own in 1997 he opened Rick Terry Jewelry Designs. Years later, the Terry family became third-generation jewelers when Rick’s two sons, Blake and Matthew, joined the family jewelry business. His wife, Patty, works the bookkeeping and accounting every afternoon for the store. The family has operated retail jewelry stores in Knoxville for over 25 years, selling only the finest diamonds and gemstones set in gold and silver.

Patty Terry

What started as a chance meeting on the school bus has grown into what Patty describes as a “Charmed Life”. Our lives have been full of adventures, motorcycles, travels, children, and of course jewelry. Starting in high school Patty’s interest in art and drawing led to a career in Drafting and eventually into Computer Aided Drafting and Design.

While Rick’s opportunities led him to Louisiana to pursue building skills as a Master jeweler, Patty followed and joined the Team at Moseley’s Jewelers. Seven years later and after the birth of their first son Blake, Rick and Patty made the decision to return to East Tennessee and be near Family and Friends. Patty had the opportunity to return to the drafting field and just retired from a local utility with 27 years of service helping to implement a Geographic Information System mapping the electrical, water, gas, and wastewater services.

As the jewelry industries adapted CAD to the design and creation process, with Patty’s experience passed down to her sons Blake and Matt, Rick Terry Jewelry Designs had a head start in employing that into the daily processes. Patty also manages the accounting systems in the business.
