Understanding Appraisals
A jewelry appraisal at Rick Terry Jewelry Designs is made strictly for insurance purposes. Our certified gemologist provides documentation that includes carat weight, metal, and gemstone grading. Appraisals are at $150 for the first item, and the typical turnaround is 5–7 days after in-store inspection. Please note: we only appraise Rolex watches; all other watch brands are excluded.

We use cutting-edge technology and globally recognized grading systems to provide accurate and consistent results. Our appraisal reports provide the “retail replacement value” of your item. This represents the cost of recreating the piece by our skilled jewelers, based on the current day’s material cost and market trends.
Your appraisal report will include a detailed description of your jewelry piece, including measurements, weights, grades, and a photograph. We ensure all the critical elements that affect the value of your jewelry are accurately captured, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of your piece’s worth.
Our Pricing
We believe in transparency and fairness in pricing. Our appraisal services are priced at $150 for the first item. If you have multiple pieces to be appraised during one visit, each additional piece is appraised at a cost of $100. This price includes a detailed inspection, professional photography, research, and the preparation of your appraisal report.
What You Receive
After the appraisal is complete, we provide a digital copy of your detailed report, which you can easily share with your insurance company or securely store. Upon request, we also provide a printed copy for your personal records.
Please understand that this documentation is for insurance purposes only. The “Retail Replacement Value” provided in the report is calculated based on the cost to custom-recreate your item today. It is not an accurate estimation of what a person would pay for your jewelry in a private sale or in the open market.
